Behind the Scenes – Doogie Roux

Last week I attended a photoshoot by local photographer Henry McCoy.  I was feeling frisky and decided to shoot some behind the scenes video of the project and then put it together….all in good fun.  Here is the result.

Tuesday Inspiration – World’s Widest Slip & Slide

Tuesday Inspiration is back after a brief vacation. Really, I just forgot to keep up with it. I apologize, it won’t happen again. I came across this via my buddy Henry McCoy, and I have to say, it floored me. This guy shoots all of his videos with a Canon 5DMKll on a Glidecam. That’s it. Check out the rest of his stuff on his YouTube channel. I got lost in his videos for hours last week. Amazing.

Dowling Spring Schedule Poster

I know I said I was going to gear my blog more toward fun things and stuff I found on the interweb, but I had to get this one out there. I am proud to reveal the first athletic peace done as a solo endeavor for a school that is not Louisiana Tech University. That is in no way a knock on Tech, because I love them and they are my alma mater. It’s a tribute to advancement and hopefully a sign of many things to come. Dealing with the good people at Dowling was an absolute pleasure. If you’re in their area, stop by and watch the Lions!

The Freelancer

The Freelancer trailer was put together to show the life and times of an up and coming freelance designer/videographer/photographer. The idea was to tell it how it really is. It’s great! But at the same time it’s hard. I don’t think that is told very often. People often focus on how wonderful it is to be creative and to have freedom, etc. And that’s fine. Because it’s true. But at the same time, getting your name out, getting clients and even getting paid are TOUGH things to do. So we shot this pretty raw and kept it very simple. It’s been met with some praise and some criticism. It’s been taken as whiny and cocky. I’m not sure how it’s either one of those. I’m confident in what I do. I’m confident in my abilities. And in the beginning when I’m saying I can do multiple things, I’m confident in that as well. I feel it’s true to the point and that a lot of people out there can very much agree with this. I hope you enjoy.
