I Idolize This Guy

It’s no secret that I am an enormous Jay-z fan. Both musically and non-musically. I found this video from the Oprah Show really fascinating. This is a person who never shares his private life, so this very brief look into his is so interesting to me. There is also a line that sticks out in it that I couldn’t agree with more. He says something like, “I’m not trying to be Ralph Lauren, but he’s the one I’m definitely chasing”, or something along those lines. Man, I couldn’t agree with that more. Especially when it comes to trying to model my business and marketing in the Chase Jarvis fashion. Or when I look at a guy like Tim Mantoani, someone who has worked extremely hard and is in the EXACT place I want to be in. Incredibly talented and smart men. Anyway, here is the video:

Getting Published Is Cool – Jumbotron Edition

A few months back, I did a promotional photoshoot for the Louisiana Tech University football team.  Well, this past weekend was the first home game of the 2009 season, and the revealing of the spank new jumbtron in the endzone.  Well, Tech decided that one of my images, combined with design skills of Donnie Bell, should be used to cover the back of it.  I have to admit, it looks really good.  So thank you Tech for using my shot.  And thank you Donnie for doing it justice.

Marucci Bats – Baton Rouge, LA

I’m almost ashamed that it took me this long to post this blog…

On Good Friday, this year, I began my journey into commercial photography. One of my biggest goals in photography is to do exactly what makes me happy. One of the things that makes me the happiest is sports. Anyone who knows me, knows this is true. So, I was blessed to be allowed to begin my journey into commercial sports photography, with a local company that is known throughout Major League Baseball. The Marucci Bat Company is a, now, huge supplier to Major League Baseball, of extremely high quality, and I should say, beautiful wooden baseball bats. The list of players is absolutely mind blowing to any baseball fan. I know I was awe struck when, on the shoot, I reached down and picked up an ‘in progress’ David Wright bat. To me, to think that this bat would be used in a Major League game one day, is awesome. So here are the pictures. I also recommend going to their site and looking around. These bats also make wonderful gifts. I also want to thank Kurt, Joe and Katie for being extremely welcoming. You all are great people.
