The Freelancer

The Freelancer trailer was put together to show the life and times of an up and coming freelance designer/videographer/photographer. The idea was to tell it how it really is. It’s great! But at the same time it’s hard. I don’t think that is told very often. People often focus on how wonderful it is to be creative and to have freedom, etc. And that’s fine. Because it’s true. But at the same time, getting your name out, getting clients and even getting paid are TOUGH things to do. So we shot this pretty raw and kept it very simple. It’s been met with some praise and some criticism. It’s been taken as whiny and cocky. I’m not sure how it’s either one of those. I’m confident in what I do. I’m confident in my abilities. And in the beginning when I’m saying I can do multiple things, I’m confident in that as well. I feel it’s true to the point and that a lot of people out there can very much agree with this. I hope you enjoy.

Apricot – Short Film

I can, without a doubt, say that I started my day off the right way this morning.  I stumbled across this short film by Ben Briand.  It gives an awesome feeling of love and brings back nostalgic memories of childhood.  I highly recommend taking 10 minutes of your day to take this in.

Belief Design – Chain Reaction

I stole this video from Greyscale Gorilla but I’m sure he won’t mind.  This is a fantastic video to get the juices flowing again.  I highly recommend that all creatives watch this!

Wednesday Inspiration: The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

‘HOLY CATS BATMAN!’

This is the day I’ve been waiting for. It’s hard for me to summarize how excited I am to see this video surface. Because in seeing this video, means that the RED Epic is finally arriving. As a photographer and videographer, this is going to be the camera to have in my opinion. Imagine a D-SLR with the frame rate of a RED ONE and the image quality of a 5DMKll. BOOM! Here it is. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you….RED EPIC.

Buyer beware. This beast ain’t gon’ be cheap. I imagine this thing will be around $10,000. Which is great because it will instantly weed out the ama-fessional photogs. Leave the shooting to the big guns. LOAD UP! WOOHOO!

Thanks F-Stoppers for posting this.

Adele – Rolling in the Deep

Screen shot 2010-12-13 at 10.00.05 AM

Last Friday, I posted Adele’s (what I thought) official video for the mind blowing new track, Rolling in the Deep. Well folks, I was mistaken. The gorgeous behind the scenes, B&W, video of her recording was NOT the official video. It was simply something amazing put out by an amazing artist. I now present to you, the premiere of the official Rolling in the Deep video, which is even more incredible than the BTS. Enjoy. HAPPY MONDAY INDEED!

No offense, but I hate that Justin Bieber is so nuts popular when there is amazing music like this out there.

Thursday Inspiration

Picture 17

It’s almost Friday. Which means it’s almost this weekend. I hope this beautiful vector animation can get you there. I found it fitting since it’s so close to Christmas that this strange story involves a deer. I’ve also been diving into animation a whole lot lately, so I have a deep appreciation for this. I get all tingly when I get a logo to spin around and morph. I’d slap myself silly if I decided right now to take on a challenge like making this sort of video. Anyway, I hope you enjoy. Happy post-humpday.

Maybe all those Florida Gator kids that Urban Meyer recruited will be watching. A little pick me up before they freak out and have to find a new coach to play for. Sorry kids. Geaux Tigers! (had to fit that in)
