Wednesday Inspiration – 2 Documentaries

Found two pretty awesome documentaries and thought they’d be really cool for Wednesday Inspiration.  Which, for the first time, actually falls on a Wednesday.  I hope you enjoy and it gives you the creative spark to push through the rest of the week.

First up, how ink is made. Sounds boring right? Actually, it’s pretty cool:

Second, this awesome ocean film done by Mickey Smith:

Apocalypto

Yes, I stole the name from the movie. Sue me. Anyway, I decided I wanted to do an on going series based on what I think life would be like in a post apocalyptic era. I hope to let the images speak for themselves. The gallery is here.

Here’s Where I’ve Been

2010 has been a whole hell of a lot different than 2009 in terms of my photo production work and the sheer volume of blogging.  I will definitely try a lot harder to blog more in the future, but I wanted to share all of the work that I have been doing the whole time you guys probably thought I had given up.  As most of you know, I work for Donnie Bell Design in Ruston, LA.  My main task at DBD is to handle the video production.  There are a few other tasks I do around the office but the major ones are on the motion/video end and I wanted to share them here.  Again, this is not work I do on my own through Matt Lange Photography, this is my day job with Donnie Bell Design.  So if you’re interested, hit us up through or website or give us a call.  And here we go:

I’ll start with a project that almost got scrapped at the last minute.  But Chris Mycoskie came through in the end and we wound up with something that I am very proud of.  Here is the main title design done for Southeastern University Sports Report:

Sometimes things get a little goofy.  Through working on the Southeastern spot, it was determined we needed a commercial to promote ourselves.  We came up with this concept on the fly.  I think we determined that from concepting to final product, was a little over an hour of work:

And I guess finally, we can end with our biggest athletic client, Louisiana Tech University. Since the home football season kicked off this weekend, it’s safe to reveal some of the secrets we’ve been sitting on for a few months. Enjoy:

These are just a taste of the things that have been keeping me occupied. I’ll get back to photography when I can. I have an awesome senior portrait session I’ve been working on and a super cool idea involving my buddy Thomas, still to be edited. I hope you enjoy. And again, if you’re interested in some awesome video or design…hit us up at DBD.

Football!!! Shockumentary is Back!

So, watching Eli Manning get his face ripped off tonight got me super pumped for football. And in surfing the .net, I found something I’m way behind on. Big thanks to Jaimie at Jaimie’s Field of Dreams in Monroe for linking to this on his site:
