So, watching Eli Manning get his face ripped off tonight got me super pumped for football. And in surfing the .net, I found something I’m way behind on. Big thanks to Jaimie at Jaimie’s Field of Dreams in Monroe for linking to this on his site:

Sometimes it’s awesome to just be a fan. I’m from Baton Rouge, LA and grew up a huge LSU Tiger fan. My Louisiana Tech friends, for some reason, don’t understand this. But that’s an argument for another day. Last weekend, my wife, myself and our friend Darren went to BR for LSU Fan Day. We also met up with my buddy Chuck who was already in BR. This was something I’d never done before and it was totally awesome. We got to meet a lot of the LSU team, get some autographs and have a lot of fun. Here are some pics from the day.

Darren and I on our way to fan day.

Waiting in the heat. I always make stupid faces when I’m on the ‘wrong’ end of the camera.

Me and the little lady waiting for the autographs to begin.

The gang gets to meet Patrick Peterson.

The highlight of my day was meeting Kelvin Sheppard. If you keep up with my blog, you’ll recognize what he is holding. It’s a copy of the first ever Sports Illustrated in which I have had a picture published in. Getting published was super awesome. But meeting the guy who the picture is of, have him tell you he had never seen it, getting him to sign it, take a picture together with the magazine and then have him turn out to be a totally awesome guy…..that’s REALLY cool.

Darren and I’s spoils.
I can’t wait to go back next year.
I finally landed a copy of the Sports Illustrated SEC Preview issue. Sports Illustrated, to me, is pretty much the pinnacle for shooting sports. Fellow sports photographer, Derick Hingle, hit me on facebook to tell me I had made the cover and a full page photo in this issue. My mind was blown. I had all but given up hope on being in SI, so I was definitely in disbelief. But it’s true. However, I was trumped by Derick himself, as he had the main image on the cover of Patrick Peterson. I’m still pumped though. I hope this leads to many more. I know this is a short post but I’m almost at a loss for words. Especially since I just found out I was also published in the Sporting News this week.

Full page! Published right next to Mark Rebilas. I never thought that’d happen.
