Music Video – Announcement

In the next couple of months, I will be directing and shooting my first ever music video. The artist and song will be named later, but for now I want to announce that I need help! That’s not a desperate plea, but the greatest asset you can have, are people themselves. I’ll need people to a) be in the video and b) help out any way I need help. If you are someone who’d be interested in this, please let me know. I don’t imagine this video will take more than 2 days to shoot. There are no paying positions. This is something myself and the artist are doing, simply for the love of being creative. So anyone who comes on, will also being doing it for the same reason. Just to be part of something. So email me or hit me on facebook if you’re interested. Oh yeah, it’s going to be in Baton Rouge, LA. So if you’re coming from out of town, it’s on you but that would be awesome!

Anyone with any video/camera gear, I’d be honored to borrow it!

So there it is. Can’t wait to get this rolling.

Tuesday Inspiration: Chase Jarvis: The Blakes: Ramshackle Hearse

Few things:

Have I met Chase Jarvis? No

Would I like to meet Chase? Absolutely

Is it odd that I promote other photographers on my blog?  Probably to some people, but not me

Do I like this video? Yes – for the most part. There is some amazing lighting, incredible landscapes and fantastic slow motion.

Do I like the song? Honestly? No. But then again, I’m a hip-hop guy. Who knows, it may grow on me.

Why am I putting it on here?  This is a great thing.  Photographers stepping out of their comfort zones to try something new.  I love it.  Chase is a commercial photographer out of Seattle, WA who does some directing. But for the most part, from what I can tell, will usually just stay in the realm of still photography. Clearly I’m a fan of this, given the recent post with the Vampire Temptress, aka my wife Chelsea.  I am also stepping on the music video front for my good friend Chris Keegan, soon.  So this is particularly interesting to me.  Anyway, check out his video.  Then click here to see some behind the scenes. Enjoy.

Jay-Z Rhapsody Commercial

This is a pretty awesome ad, I must say. This goes along, sort of, with that Megan Fox Esquire shoot done with the RED One. Motion combined with still frames, recreating all of his album covers. I love it. I really do.

Thank You Chris Keegan

cpk-cdcoverfinal

Keeping the videos rolling on www.mattlange.com that have been such a big hit, I want to thank Chris Keegan for providing one of his songs for one of my next videos. The song is called ‘Pressure’ and it’s awesome! I didn’t say it would be my next video, because I have some other things I need to push out the door before I can really sink my teeth into this one. I also am not going to reveal what it’s for, but I will say, it’s for something that has yet to begin. A person project if you will. I think it’s going to be great. So again, thank you Chris. I suggest all of you become a fan of Chris. You can do so here.

Tuesday Inspiration – Mark Romanek

Today’s ‘Tuesday Inspiration’ is from the Hillman Curtis artist video series. This particular interview/video is with Director Mark Romanek. You may not have heard of him, but you know his work. I hope this gets your week rolling a little harder. Enjoy. It really is great work.

Just a heads up, it may be NSFW. Has some very brief nudity.
