Shaun Grant

I’m currently in the middle of editing a music video for the hip-hop group, Kidz In The Hall. Who are excellent, by the way. I stopped to check my Facebook messages when a YouTube video caught my eye. It is the new single by Ne-Yo. This normally wouldn’t catch my eye at all, except for the fact that my very very good friend Shaun Grant is in this video. Shaun went to college with me and is currently working himself up the ranks in both acting and fashion modeling. You may have seen him on my site….

…at the :51 second mark, you’ll see Shaun on the left of the screen (bald head). This is a small role, but I’m proud of Shaun. Any talent scouts that may be reading this, you can contact Shaun here and find links and galleries to his work. Definitely contact him. Good work Shaun, from one up and comer to another, keep grinding.

Coffin Freedom 2.0

My designer friend, Jordan, made a second visit to the studio, to further photograph my work from his Coffin Freedom ‘88 line.  This time he used ‘Paparazzi’ by Lady Gaga as inspiration.  The theme of this shoot was ‘death by camera’, if you will.  We shot on a dark background as opposed to the last time, when we shot on white.  I really love the results of this shoot.

Coffin Freedom ‘88

Friendship and fun can come at you when you least expect it. I added Jordan as a friend on Facebook back when I was trying to network with fashion designers in the Baton Rouge area. I was thinking that I would want to add something new and fresh to my portfolio. Well, nothing really came of it at the time and I stuck with my senior portraits and sports work. I forget the details in the middle, but I got an email from Jordan, and I hesitate to say ‘in a panic’, but a photoshoot he was planning had fallen through and he needed someone else to step in. So we did some planning and then finally got to shooting. I’ll be honest and say it was nothing that I had ever done before. But I loved every second of it. I loved the uniqueness and how it was something very new to me. Through that, I have helped Jordan realize some of his goals and see them come to life. I have also made new friends in this whole process. I will do this again and again. Jordan, I hope you enjoy your shots and I look forward to us working together soon.
