Matty Awards – Best Movie Trailer

Well the Matty’s have picked up some steam since day one. I had a trailer in mind as the overall winner, but then someone ask ‘can I nominate one?’. Then another. And another. Then I had a full fledged, legitimate, award race.  So the nominees are:  The Town, Battle:  Los Angeles, Nightmare on Elm Street, 127 Hours, Sucker Punch and Cowboys & Aliens. Due to this being an actual, unplanned, contest, I struggled with how to display the winner. So I figured I’d show the winner first, then below, the rest of the nominees. All of these trailers were outstanding, I love them all. Remember, this has nothing to do with the movie. It’s purely about the trailer and execution. With that said, the 2010 Matty for Best Movie Trailer goes to:

Battle:  Los Angeles

Picture 33

When I saw this trailer for the first timed, I simply sat there after it was over.  It was beautiful.  No over the top effects (although I know it’s 99% effects).  No loud noises.  Just gorgeous cinematography and awesome music.  Hats off to whom ever put this together  Sidenote, one comment I read on this was ‘I hope Justin Bieber dies in this one’.  That made me lol.  .  Speaking of, I want to edit a trailer.  Anyone know how I can get my foot in with that?  Anyway.  With that said, here is the trailer for Battle:  Los Angeles:

Pretty good stuff right?  To keep the Wednesday fun going.  Here are the trailers for the rest of the nominees.  Just a little something to prevent you from working for at least 15 more minutes.

The Town:

Nightmare on Elm Street:

Sucker Punch:

127 Hours:

Cowboys & Aliens:

That was fun. Now get back to work! Tomorrow, the Matty for Athlete of the Year. And start scouring the internet. Blog of the Year award going out Friday!
