Allow Me to Vent

This blog really isn’t meant to express personal opinions on issues.  It’s meant for fun and photography.  Anything posted on here that is my view of something is pretty much just for kicks and nothing serious.  I said a while back that I would never blog about politics or religion…ever.  However, this has gotten to the point where I feel like saying something.  I don’t know if this is political really or not, but it’s driving me bat sh*t crazy.

THE ECONOMY AND THE MEDIA COVERAGE OF IT

Oh my God, just stop with the media coverage of the economy.  The economy is down.  It’s been down.  And it’s bad.  Now, I’m not going to get into this whole stimulus mess that’s going on.  That’s something that can’t be contained in an entire website.  But the media needs to stop doing what they are doing.  Every single day I go to check the news or my email there is a headline along the lines of, ‘consumer confidence at all time low’ or ‘market lower than it’s ever been’.  I could be way off base here, but you want to know why people are not confident or won’t spend money (aside from the obvious fact if they don’t have a job), it’s because the media tells them CONSTANTLY how terrible the market is.  How HORRIBLE everything is.  Where is the positive, happy news?  When people are happy, they spend money.  CRAZY amounts of money at that.  The stock market is driven on investing.  People invest money, it goes up.  People don’t invest, or pullout, it goes down.  It’s simple. VERY SIMPLE!  However, if I have money to invest, but I read every single day about these places going out of business, or the Government has to give all this money to such and such or it will go out of business because they were too dumb to run it correctly in the first place, I’m not going to invest.

This is what I think should happen.  Zero media coverage of the market for a month.  A solid month.  I can bet that it will go up.  Zero reporting on job losses, or consumer confidence.

People are spending money right and left.  Hell, I was at the mall Sunday and it was more crowded than I have seen in a while.  My dad is investing his money, and abundantly. Look, I know my blog doesn’t reach the masses that CNN or FoxNews does, but some people read it.  Just use your heads people.  Economy is driven on consumer spending/investing.  If you don’t spend or invest, it goes down.  Some of the biggest companies today, came out of the great depression.  AND, some of the richest families are the families of people who INVESTED during the depression, not pulled out.  Be smart.

Feel free to comment on this.  Again, it’s just my opinion.  Right or wrong, I felt like stating it.  It probably won’t happen again.  Thanks for your time.
