Smoky Mountain Vacation
I’ve just arrived back in Ruston, LA from a week long stay in the Smoky Mountains. It was a much needed break from ‘reality’. Although I did do some design work and take some videos (of course), I didn’t really photograph anything. I’m sort of kicking myself for it….but then again, not really. It was a great trip. Here are the few shots I got. Literally, a few.
Before we got to the Smokies, however, we stopped in Cullman, AL. For those of you who don’t remember, Cullman was struck by a major tornado the same day as Tuscaloosa, AL, back in April. Although the town has cleaned up a lot, there is still significant damage. This building stood out the most to me.

There they are. Like I said, just a few.

Chicago Is Calling Me

Recently I’ve developed this obsession with Chicago. I’ve never been and I want to go now….bad. Things keep presenting themselves online, just encouraging it. Today I came across this timelapse video of a month of sunrises, and sunsets, in the city of Chicago, by Craig Shimala. I think what this is saying is ‘Matt, you need to come watch a month of sunrises and sunsets in Chicago’. Well Chicago, I accept your offer.
